30+ Days with Activate Body
A few months ago, I told you guys that I had started to work out with a personal trainer and have meal plan with a nutritionist. In the mid of April it was the end of my trial period with my gym, Activate Body. The trial was a 30-day period where I had unlimited workouts for a discounted price. I went to the gym for 3 days a week (excluding one week during my cycle) and I lost about 5lbs give or take. Doesn't seem like a lot but I'm happy that I lost something. I've been trying to lose weight for years and I may have lost about an average of 2-3lbs within a year. Anyway, within the first week I felt like I was dying. I couldn't move, it hurt to laugh, and even breathe. Now even though I've been at the gym for about 2/3 months I still get sore. Their gym plan is different than what I'm used to. After the trial was over I had to decide how many times I wanted to go to the gym either for a 3-month period or a 12-month period. I still wasn't sure about the gym and the meal plan as a whole so I decided I wanted to go with the 3-month plan but the cheapest plan involves going to their gym once a week (they give some extra sessions for free). Going to the gym only once a week sucks but at the end of the day it's pretty much all I can afford as a college student. Since losing the 5lbs, my weight has gone up and down and their hasn't been much of a change really. I noticed that I'm gaining muscle in some places but since muscles weigh more than fat, I can't ever tell if I'm losing fat...until they put me on a different scale that was more accurate. For the last few weeks (or month) it felt like my results weren't changing at all but recently, I saw that my fat percentage went down. Eventually, I will write a post of my beginning weight from when I started at the gym to what it is now (after I lose a few more pounds).
Besides working out, I know that diet is 80% of the journey and it's been hard to stay on a strict diet. And to be honest, I've been eating whatever I want. No I'm not eating burgers and fries every day...I don't even eat beef but I will splurge on some ice cream and pizza, especially when it's hot and all I want to do is go to Chick-Fil-A for a Cookies and Cream Milkshake (no cherry). I've been trying to do things in moderation, have ice cream once or twice a week instead of 3-4 days/week, eat more vegetables and drink more water. But water is not my best friend and even if I try to drink about 64-80oz of water, my body doesn't even want it. If I take a few sips of water, I'm good for almost two hours. Me drinking 64oz sounds like a death sentence...however, I will try and make this more of a goal for July. Also I started walking on days that I don't go to the gym or have to work at my internship (it's unpaid *rolls eyes*). Hopefully, I can keep up with doing things on my own and accomplishing my health goals in July. Of course, I'll try and do an update soon on my progress.
